The brief

About this project

A tired lawn and old patio were replaced with a generous grey sandstone patio, sleeper steps up to a new lawn and clean gravel edges along the house.

The starting point

A mature garden with patchy grass, a small cracked patio and a slope that made the lawn hard to use. Typical of the established family gardens in Langley, Wexham, Stoke Poges and Gerrards Cross.

What we did

We lifted the old paving and lawn, reset the levels and laid a much larger sandstone patio. Sleeper steps link the patio to the lawn above and hold the soil back neatly. The ground was prepared properly and new turf laid, with a gravel strip along the house wall to help drainage.

The finished space

The garden now has two clear zones: a big patio for sitting and dining, and a fresh lawn for children and pets. It looks smart from day one and will last for years.
