FAQs
Decking questions
We design and build decking for homes throughout Slough, Maidenhead and Berkshire, from compact garden decks to large raised platforms.
Timber decking has a natural look and can be stained or treated. Composite is made from wood fibres and recycled plastic, needs far less maintenance and is more resistant to weather and rot.
With good care, timber decking typically lasts 10–20 years, and composite decking 25 years or more.
Usually not, unless the deck is more than 30cm above the ground or covers more than half of the garden. We'll advise you before installation.
Clean and re-treat timber decking about once a year. Composite decking just needs an occasional wash with soapy water.
Yes. Raised and multi-level decks are a great way to make sloping or uneven gardens usable.
