When is the best time of year to landscape your garden?

When to book patios, fencing, turf and tree planting for the best results, and why planning ahead gets you the best slot.

Hard landscaping

Patios, driveways and fencing can be built most of the year. Very wet or freezing weather can pause mortar and concrete work, so winter projects may take a little longer.

Planting and turf

Autumn to early spring is ideal for planting trees and hedges, especially bare-root plants. Turf is best laid in spring or autumn, when it's mild and damp.

Book ahead

Spring and early summer are the busiest months. Getting a quote in late winter means your garden is ready by the time the weather turns.
